Commodore’s Corner

Like the winds of August (with apologies to Ms. Tuchman), news seems a bit sparse. But there certainly was plenty of boating. I can also assure you that our famous Pagan River barnacles don’t need any wind for their propagation & maturation! However, my totally unscientific survey did indicate some decrease in dockside snake sightings.

If I may have a paternalistic moment, let me emphasize the importance of continuing to nurture the great relationships we’ve established with other clubs over the years all over the bay. We must always comport ourselves as guests. Should any disagreement arise, please contact me so we can quickly resolve it and put it to rest.

We had a lot of members out cruising over Labor Day weekend...some up the river, some down the river & some up the bay. Based on feedback all had a good time!

Saturday marks the beginning of the Fall racing series, which will be followed by the Frostbite series. There’ll be fun races just about every Saturday for the next several months. If you’re interested in joining one of the race crews or just want to come out for a day to see what this racing stuff is all about, please contact John Wandling or me…or just show up on the pier on Saturday morning.

Don’t forget our final Dock Party of the year on 9/12…you should have already received an email on it.

Hope to see you at Thursday’s monthly meeting when we’ll be treated to a slide show of pix from Cruise Week.
